AICPA Conference Offers Insight on Practice Growth

May 23, 2012 (Business Wire) There's no single, magic solution for CPA firms looking to take their practice to the next level. But there is a one-stop destination to jumpstart the process: the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and Tech+ Conference, where the profession gathers each year to get the latest business intelligence on technology, marketing and practice management. With over 150 expertly developed sessions, it's the complete "firm retreat," featuring valuable insights for practice leaders and their staff.

For the first time, this event--scheduled to take place June 11-13, 2012, at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas--will be conducted in partnership with the Association for Accounting Marketing Summit. Along with the other high-quality tracks CPAs have come to expect from this conference, attendees can now access marketing and business development sessions, learn how to build their digital brand, develop strategic messaging, find prospects and grow their firm.

"CPA firms are looking to transform themselves in many ways, and it can be hard to stay on top of all the critical issues that bear on business growth," said Mark Koziel, CPA, CGMA, and AICPA vice president of firm services and global alliances. "This conference gives practice leaders the tools to assess their current strategies, uncover new opportunities and make the right choices to build a thriving firm."

Tips from the conference will include:

Updates on key issues involving tax changes, accounting and auditing standards, and practice management guidance.

Insight into technology trends and the best way to harness essential tools such as cloud computing and mobile capabilities.

Guidance on branding and business development, including best practices on marketing and the creation of a strong digital presence.

Donny Shimamoto, CPA, CITP, is attending for the fifth time this year and said he continues to be drawn by the quality and comprehensiveness of the conference lineup.

"I know I'm going to have takeaways that I can go back to my organization and apply immediately," he said.

The conference will host more than 125 presenters, including AICPA President & CEO Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA; AICPA Chairman Gregory J. Anton, CPA, CGMA; Bill Pirolli, CPA/PFS, CFF, of DiSanto, Priest & Co.; ConvergenceCoaching co-founder Jennifer Wilson; Jim Bourke, CPA.CITP, CFF, of WithumSmith+Brown; Bill Reeb, CPA.CITP, CGMA, and CEO of the Succession Institute; and Randy Johnston, MCS, of the Network Management Group, Inc. Author Sally Hogshead and Stephen Shapiro, an expert on innovation culture, will deliver keynotes.

CPAs can register through CPA2Biz.com/PS or call (888) 777-7077. A "virtual conference" option is also available, with keynote presentations and select sessions that will be broadcast live online.
