Ms. Hopkins has been at NIU since 1987. She has coordinated the first semester sophomore accounting principles class and is currently the director and auditing instructor for the NIU CPA Review Program. Under her leadership, the noncredit review program has grown and is currently helping over 1,200 people per year prepare for the CPA Examination. NIU students have been ranked in the top 10 pass rates on the CPA exam more times than any other institution except the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ms. Hopkins worked in public accounting for 4 years before joining the Accountancy Department faculty at NIU. She has been awarded the Northern Illinois University Teaching Instructor Award and the Illinois CPA Society's Outstanding Accounting Educator award. Ms. Hopkins performs consulting work for several public accounting firms on a regular basis which includes conducting International Accounting and Auditing Standards in Cairo, Egypt and Skopje, Macedonia. She serves as a technical committee chair of the Illinois CPA Society's Auditing Services Committee, one of the senior committees of the Society.
