Texas CPAs 'Go Viral' with Financial Literacy Message April 29, 2009 (SmartPros) Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA) is turning to social media April 30 to see how many people can be reached with the financial literacy message. As part of TSCPA’s ongoing financial literacy initiative and promotion of the Society’s consumer Web site at ValueYourMoney.org, TSCPA members are being asked to send a financial literacy message via their social media channels this Thursday.
Whether members are on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or simply want to e-mail their distribution list, TSCPA encourages members to make financial literacy go viral this week to conclude Financial Literacy Month with a bang. Through TSCPA’s first Financial Literacy Social Media Outreach Day, the Society hopes to leverage the power of social media to encourage thousands of people to check out the free personal financial information and resources available online. ValueYourMoney.org is TSCPA’s consumer financial literacy Web site that offers free personal financial information divided by life stage categories. The site features downloadable resources, a monthly poll, e-newsletter subscription, and content in Spanish. Nearly 32,000 people visited the site during the last three months.
