The 2007 Deloitte/ATA Teaching Innovation Award was presented to Dr. Mary Margaret Frank, University of Virginia, Darden School of Business, on August 6 during the American Accounting Association annual meeting.
Professor Frank is the first award winner to submit materials for an entire course, including multiple tax cases and teaching notes. Her winning submission was the "How to Put More Strategy in Your 'Taxes and Business Strategy' Course: A Case-Method Approach." She will receive a $5,000 honorarium for her work.
This year's ATA awards committee also included the following members of the academic community: Robert Gardner, Brigham Young University; Sharon Lassar, Florida International University; Bobbie Martindale, Dallas Baptist University; Rod Monger, American University in Dubai; Sarah Nutter, George Mason University; Kent Royalty, St. Mary's University; and Kathleen Sinning, Western Michigan University.
