Survey Reveals Gender Gap in CPA Salaries Dec. 15, 2006 (SmartPros) Preliminary findings of the SmartPros Salary Survey show a large compensation gap between men and women who hold a CPA license.
Among the respondents who have answered the survey to date, women who are certified public accountants have an average 2006 salary of $77,863. In contrast, men CPAs have an average 2006 salary of $102,787. Interestingly, accounting firms that are concerned about retaining key female employees are aggressively marketing a work/life balance within their firms to both men and women.
