Not-for-Profit Form 990 for Tax Advisers: Audio Seminar July 25, 2005 (SmartPros) CCH Tax and Accounting is hosting a live 100-minute audio seminar designed for tax advisers with nonprofit agencies as clients. Expert presenters Michael J. Tucker and Jeffrey L. Jacobs, co-producers of The CPA Report's Not-for-Profit Specialist, will walk listeners through practice pointers on successfully filing the entire Form 990 package, including Forms 990-T and 990-PF. The audio conference, titled "Not-for-Profit Organizations and Form 990: Hot Issues You Need to Know," will focus on how widespread disclosure of this information creates new issues for tax advisers to not-for-profit organizations with funding agencies and regulators. According to Tucker, professor of accounting at Quinnipiac University, new rules have improved public access to the financial information of charities, including IRS Form 990. Jacobs agrees with his colleague, noting that "loyal donors, as well as state attorneys general, are quite interested in whether the charity has diverted any of its resources to 'insider' officers or directors." The CCH live audio conferences requires a telephone connection. For the $249 per site fee, an unlimited number of listeners at a site may participate. Two hours of CPE credit are also available for an additional $25 for each person wishing to receive a CPE certificate for participating in the conference. 2005 SmartPros Ltd. All Rights Reserved. |
