Financial Planning Association and College for Financial Planning Join Forces

Aug. 31, 2004 (SmartPros) The Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the College for Financial Planning announced a new alliance with the aim to help grow the financial planning profession.

The partnership will provide five scholarships to FPA® members for the College’s CFP Board-registered educational program. The scholarships will include full tuition, books and other educational materials. In exchange, FPA will provide the College with at least 500 FPA discounted student memberships to provide to its’ students.

The partnership also allows the College to offer FPA members a 15 percent discount from the usual list price on the College’s financial education programs, including the CFP Certification Professional Education Program, review courses, books and materials.

“We’re excited about our new relationship with the College for Financial Planning and its implications for the profession,” said FPA President Elizabeth Jetton, CFP®. “Part of FPA’s primary aim is to advance the financial planning profession and our new alliance with the College helps us achieve that. Our combined resources will create exciting new opportunities for financial planners and will ultimately help grow the profession.”
