PwC Invites Accounting Educators to Summer Training Program NEW YORK, March 29, 2004 (SmartPros) PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has invited 350 university accounting faculty members to a four-day training program this summer. "PwC University for Faculty," to take place in July, will include components of Section 404 Sarbanes-Oxley training; experiential learning, which focuses on teaming and driving quality throughout the audit process; and three modules for faculty to choose from -- audit methodology, tax developments and international accounting standards. "We invest significant time in professional development and want to expose accounting faculty -- those who play a crucial role in shaping the skills, thinking and ethics of our future accounting professionals -- to the same training that we offer our partners and staff," said PwC Chairman Dennis Nally. "There is something powerful about having 350 top educators sharing ideas and learning together. We see this as an opportunity for faculty then to share this learning with students." PricewaterhouseCoopers is involving members from its Learning & Education and Risk & Quality areas in the training program. "This is an extremely challenging time in the accounting practice and in education, particularly following Sarbanes-Oxley," ssaid Jim Benjamin, accounting department head and professor at Texas A&M University."'PwC |
