Tax Panel to Discuss Qualifying for Credits WASHINGTON, Jan. 8, 2004 (SmartPros) January's Tax Talk Today panel discussion will focus on qualifying for earned income tax credits and other credits, including those for health insurance and child care. Practitioners filing credit claims will also learn about new IRS sorting methods. The Webcast will help practitioners to determine whether their clients are eligible for earned income tax credits (EITC). The program, which is co-sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service, will teach practitioners how to verify eligibility and show them where to go for help with EITC filing. The Webcast airs Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST, on www.TaxTalkToday.TV. The tax panel will include JoAnn Lane, senior policy analyst in the Wage and Investment Operating Division, Examination Operations of the IRS; David G. Acosta, CPA; and Brenda Schafer, MSA, CPA, CFP, EA. Les Witmer, communications consultant and a 23-year veteran of the IRS, will moderate the Internet broadcast.
