Harvey Pitt to Write Column for Compliance Week


BOSTON, Sept. 3, 2003 (SmartPros) Harvey Pitt, former chairman of the Securities Exchange Commission and recent founder of advisory services firm Kalorama Partners, will become a regular contributor to a corporate governance and compliance newsletter. publication.



Compliance Week, a 40,000-circulation newsletter, said Pitt's column will debut this month.

"We're honored to have Mr. Pitt contributing his knowledge on governance and compliance issues," said Compliance Week editor Scott S. Cohen. "Harvey has a unique voice, unparalleled experience, and much to share," added Cohen.

Pitt served as SEC chief from 2001 until 2003. Political pressure during the wave of corporate scandals forced Pitt -- whose critics claimed he could not serve objectively due to his past affiliations with public accounting firms -- to resign from the post. 

Earlier this year, Pitt launched Kalorama Partners with former SEC chief accountant Robert K. Herdman.
