WASHINGTON, Dec. 24, 2002 (Tulsa World) The Securities and Exchange Commission has barred three former WorldCom Inc. accountants from working in that capacity because of their alleged involvement in violating federal securities laws.

All three were certified public accountants. David Myers, 45, was licensed in Mississippi in 1985; Buford Yates, 46, was a CPA since 1988; and Betty Vinson, 47, was certified in 1980, the SEC said.

Myers was WorldCom's controller, Yates held the position of director of general accounting and Vinson was a general accountant.
