Weyerhaeuser Replaces Andersen

April 17, 2002 Weyerhaeuser Company is now one of many companies to defect from Arthur Andersen. The company announced Tuesday it has hired KPMG as the company's independent public accountant effective immediately.

Federal Way, Wash.-based Weyerhaeuser said the decision to change auditors was not the result of any disagreement between the company and Arthur Andersen on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.

Andersen has lost nearly 200 clients this year due to the Enron debacle.
