ELedger Taps Brooks as Chief Financial Officer TOLEDO, Ohio, Jan. 30, 2001 (SmartPros) ELedger.com Inc., a provider of Web-based accounting applications for small businesses, has tapped Ohio CPA Brian Brooks as its chief financial officer. ELedger offers a Web-based accounting application that includes general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and an analysis tool called Flashpoints, for $19.95 a month for an account that includes access for 10 users plus accountant access. The firm, which has attracted about 300 users since its launch in May, faces stiff competition in the online arena from other providers of Web-based accounting applications such as Intacct and NetLedger, both based in California. In his new role, Brooks will steer the development and deployment of all the company's financial planning and accounting initiatives. According to the firm, his primary objective will be to implement a long-standing financial plan that will aggressively manage eLedger toward profitability. In September, eLedger moved its data center from Ohio-based Sky Technology Resources to Exodus Communications to support its expanding customer base. In October, the company hooked up with online financial services provider PrimeStreet to offer eLedger customers access to online credit. -- SmartPros News Staff Send comments to information@smartpros.com. 2001, Smartpros Ltd.
