This Cognitor crap does not go down easy for me. I like Elliot -- nice guy, visionary and all, but geez -- what are we trying to prove here?? What is wrong with providing better branding and positioning for "CPA." I am a firm believer in becoming more focused, not a jack of all trades. I am well versed in a number of areas and am getting tired of this game that the AICPA is playing  with new certifications as the be all end all for the survival of the CPA "race"!

When is it that the AICPA is going to tell the truth about their total lack of focus on their most significant constituency -- the small to medium firm! These other credentials are simply subterfuge...

Ask my colleagues in the SMB sector if we feel well served by our Association. Ask them why they are members. Check out how many are simply in because of habit or fear.

What is the AICPA giving us these days? When are we going to discuss the REAL issues? Will accounting firms as we know them even exist in five year?
