Hartcourt, KPMG Part Ways


WASHINGTON, Dec. 13, 2000 (SmartPros) Hartcourt Companies Inc., a holding and development company that is building a network of Internet and telecommunication service companies in China, has parted ways with its certifying accountant, KPMG International, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.



According to an 8-K filed Monday with the SEC, the Los Angeles-based company and the Big Five firm agreed to terminate their relationship on Nov. 23.

According to the filing, there were no disagreements between Hartcourt and KPMG on any matters of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosures or auditing scope or procedures.

Hartcourt has yet to name a replacement.
