AOL Launches Intuit's Quicken Bill Manager DULLES, Va. and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec. 9, 2000 (SmartPros) In an effort to ease the burden of paying household bills, America Online and Intuit have joined forces to arm consumers with an online bill payment service. Intuit's Quicken Bill Manager on AOL and CompuServe enables users to receive all their bills online, access their bills anytime, cut the time spent paying bills and keep better track of finances, said Intuit. Via the Personal Finance Channels on AOL and CompuServe, customers can pay bills from up to 10 different payment accounts (checking accounts, brokerage accounts, etc.) and track and store all their payment records. In coming months, Quicken Bill Manager is expected to be available on aol.com. To enroll in the service, AOL members go to the Banking & Loans department of AOL's Personal Finance Channel and click on Quicken Bill Manager, or go to AOL Keyword: Bill Manager. CompuServe members go to the Banking Center and the Family Finance Center, or CompuServe Go Word: Bill Manager. Once enrolled, users can find complete snapshots of their bills including their billers, amounts due and due dates. Consumers can then receive bills, make payments and schedule recurring payments, if they choose, said Intuit. CompuServe members can pay up to 20 bills each month with Quicken Bill Manager for about $5.95 (with additional bills costing 30 cents each). -- SmartPros News Staff Send comments to information@smartpros.com. 2000, Smartpros Ltd.
