Andersen Consulting's PRA Solutions Acquires HP's Open Skies


MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 9, 2000 (SmartPros) Andersen Consulting's PRA Solutions unit is acquiring Hewlett Packard's Open Skies unit to broaden its revenue enhancement offerings for the airline industry, the company stated.



The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Collectively, PRA Solutions, an application service provider, and Open Skies, a provider of hosted airline reservation solutions, will service more than 40 airlines around the world ranging from fast growing new entrants to large major carriers, said PRA.

PRA Solutions said it will continue to host Open Skies' airline reservation system from the Open Skies data center in Salt Lake City as well as its own data centers in Minneapolis and Sydney.

AC Ventures, the venture capital unit of Andersen Consulting, is the majority investor in PRA Solutions. On Jan. 1, 2001, AC Ventures will be known as Accenture Technology Ventures.
