Andersen Consulting Opens Business Launch Centre

DALLAS, Nov. 21, 2000 (SmartPros) Andersen Consulting, which will become Accenture on Jan. 1, has opened the doors of its Business Launch Centre located here.

The Business Launch Centre, which will be headed by firm partners John Romanow and Mitch Cline, provides initially funded technology startups and spin-offs with management, marketing, finance, administration and technology expertise, the company said.

Unlike an incubator, which usually works with businesses from the conceptual stage through their first 60 to 120 days, the Centre will work with initially funded electronic businesses that already have management and financial support, the company added.

The Centre is already working with several high-tech startups including: Separateaccounts.com, which provides the infrastructure for online-brokers, banks and money managers to offer clients separate accounts, and RocketLogix, a server appliance company.

The Texas Business Launch Centre is part of the firm's global network of 25 Centres. Other Centres are located in areas such as Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dublin and Madrid.
