Reputation Useful Recruiting Tool Nov. 18, 2000 (SmartPros) To hire the best and brightest, recruiters need to use the company's positive reputation. Reputation alone, spread by word of mouth, is one of the more effective -- and least expensive -- for attracting job-seekers to a company, according to SmartPros in Financial Advisors Reveal Secrets to Successful Recruiting. Hallie Peyton, vice president of marketing at financial advisors Legacy Wealth Management, agrees. "The people who know our firm know its reputation, which is really incredible, and are happy to pass our names along." As a result of a doing a good job, adds Sid Blum, president and co-founder of Successful Financial Solutions, people want to work for him. "We are fortunate in that we have a lot of people seeking us out." In addition to honing a positive reputation, recruiters need to look at the company's other resources: online job postings, competitive compensation and benefits packages, and relationships with organizations that can help target job candidates, to name a few. Also, recruiters should not overlook inside talent or temp workers for promotions or new positions. -- SmartPros News Staff Send comments to information@smartpros.com 2000, Smartpros Ltd.
