IRS Appoints Two Senior Industry Advisors WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 11, 2000 (SmartPros) The Internal Revenue Service has appointed two senior industry advisors to provide expert analysis and advice to the IRS's Large and Mid-Size Business division. Paul Claytor, a former managing director with Big Five firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, will serve as an advisor to the Financial Services and Healthcare Industry segment of LMSB, the IRS stated. And Douglas Berg, a CPA who joined the IRS in August, will be responsible for the Natural Resources industry segment of LMSB. In addition to providing a taxpayer's perspective on industry-wide matters, Claytor will also assist the industry director in strengthening relationships with industry associations, other government entities and taxpayers. He will be based in Downer's Grove, Ill. Berg, who was head of Corporate Structuring & Finance for London-based BP Amoco PLC, will advise on internal training, industry technical issues related to compliance priorities and policies, return filing improvements and industry practice.
