PwC Joins Forces to Develop SLM Community Web Site

HOUSTON, PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 10, 2000 (SmartPros) Big Five firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and two hardware and software providers have joined forces to launch a Service Level Management community Web site.

PwC, Sun Microsystems, a provider of network computing hardware and software, and BMC Software, a provider of e-business systems management, are working together to develop an SLM online learning community found at www.nextslm.org, said PwC.

The site uses articles, research, online discussion groups, a list of vendors, links to related Web sites and a self-assessment tool to help visitors understand SLM, the firm stated.

The self-assessment tool provides users with a personalized analysis of their SLM practices including: an overall service-level rating and comparison to the overall benchmark, a description of observed SLM best practices in the user's organizations and recommendations on how to improve a user's rating.
