Former McKinsey Partner Drives Andersen Consulting's M&A Initiative

NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2000 (SmartPros) Andersen Consulting, which will become Accenture on Jan. 1, has appointed a global head to drive the firm's mergers and acquisitions initiative.

Pat Anslinger has been named the firm's global head for mergers and acquisitions, the first outside appointment of the six global leads for the new strategy and business architecture practice, the firm said.

Prior to joining Andersen Consulting, Anslinger was a partner in the North America corporate finance strategy practice for McKinsey & Co.

Andersen Consulting recently announced that starting Jan. 1 it will be known as Accenture, a combination of the words "accent" and "future." The firm, which was forced to split from its sister accounting firm Arthur Andersen after an arbitrator's August ruling, is reinventing itself to "become the market maker, architect and builder of the new ecomony."
