Great Plains, SBA Educate Small Business Owners on E-Business FARGO, N.D., Nov. 1, 2000 (SmartPros) Software vendor Great Plains and the U.S. Small Business Administration are joining forces to educate small business owners on how to take advantage of e-business solutions. Under the agreement, Great Plains and its partners will educate business owners on how to use e-business solutions, like Great Plains' Dynamics, to expand their business. Participating SBA offices will collaborate with a Great Plains partner for one-on-one consulting, according to Great Plains. "By educating and serving small and growing businesses, we can help them broaden their market opportunity and compete more successfully in a wired world," said Don Morton, assistant to the chief executive at Great Plains. According to the SBA, last year more than one million business owners contacted the SBA for assistance on technical, financial and management needs. The SBA is hoping this agreement will alleviate some of those concerns. "Our mission at the U.S. Small Business Administration is to provide the tools that help entrepreneurs build their small businesses," said Aida Alvarez, SBA administrator. SBA offices are located throughout the country and include Business Information Centers, Tribal Business Information Centers, One-Stop Capital Shops and Women's Business Centers. -- SmartPros News Staff Send comments to information@smartpros.com 2000, Smartpros Ltd.
