IRS Taps Eight for ETAAC WASHINGTON, D.C. Oct. 25, 2000 (SmartPros) The Internal Revenue Service has named eight new members to its Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee, the group that advises the IRS on e-filing issues. The new members of the ETAAC are: Daniel Tarantin, president and chief executive of Parsippany, N.J.-based tax prep giant Jackson Hewitt Inc.; Charles E. McCabe, president and CEO of tax prep firm Peoples Income Tax Inc. in Richmond, Va.; Kevin G. Belden of Albany, N.Y., former chief information officer for the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance; Glen L. Bower of Springfield, Ill., director of revenue for the Illinois Department of Revenue; Eric R. Blackledge, president of Blackledge Furniture in Corvallis, Ore.; Paul R. Hocking, director of Frank Hirth, a private client practice based in London that specializes in U.S./United Kingdom individual and corporate taxation compliance; Brenda B. Hunter, manager of payroll and benefit accounting, Bechtel Jacobs Company in Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and Patricia M. Traynor, e-business vice president of AT&T in Florham Park, N.J. The new members will replace ETAAC's five current members, whose two-year terms end in December 2001, according to the IRS.
