Intuit Launches New Affiliate Program MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 17, 2000 (SmartPros) In a push to encourage and facilitate the reselling of its QuickBooks small business accounting software, Intuit has launched the QuickBooks Affiliate Program. The third-party sales program enables resellers to offer QuickBooks via their Web sites and earn a percentage of the revenue generated from each sale, the company said. The program targets accountants, small business associations and vertical market service providers. How it works: participants receive a QuickBooks logo to put on their site. When a client clicks onto the logo they are directed to an e-commerce site, hosted by Intuit, where they can purchase the product for up to 20 percent off, explained Richard Walker, director of Professional Accountant Marketing for Intuit. "All inventory movement and fulfillment is done by Intuit," said Walker. "It creates a channel for accountants to be able to resell." If the Affiliate chooses not to make a commission off the software sales, they can pass along the additional savings to the client. Walker said the program has already attracted more than 100 participants and he expects that number to grow to several thousand by the end of tax season.
