For the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2000, Arthur Andersen saw global revenue of $8.4 billion, a 15.4 percent increase over the previous year, the company reported. Arthur Andersen experienced growth in all geographic areas, including North America, which garnered $3.7 billion, up from $3.3 billion in 1999.

"The results clearly demonstrate that our clients are looking for the breadth of services that Arthur Andersen offers and that will help them succeed in the new economy," said Lou Salvatore, interim worldwide managing partner. "It is also an endorsement of our ability to deliver those services in an integrated, global structure - one of the most significant points of differentiation, we believe, for Arthur Andersen."

The company's assurance and business advisory practice took home the largest slice of the pie with a revenue of $3.8 billion. Tax, legal and business advisory came in second at $2.5 billion and business consulting garnered $1.6 billion, the company reported.

As far as attracting and retaining professionals, Arthur Andersen, which is a business unit of Andersen Worldwide, completed fiscal 2000 with more than 77,000 people, up from 72,000 in 1999, the company said.
