CPA McCann Launches Virtual Office for Local Firms

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 2, 2000 (SmartPros) CPA firm veteran Charles R. MacCann has launched CPAvenue, a remote-hosted, subscription-based virtual office for small and midsized accounting firms.

McCann's company, Q3Avenue, teamed with online business service provider huddle247, Inc., for the venture.

"CPAvenue allows small accounting firms to have access to their own remote-hosted virtual office at a fraction of the cost of managing their own intranet," said McCann, Q3Avenue president. McCann is well-known in the accounting industry for his role at accounting firm Mayer Hoffman McCann, where he served as managing partner for 10 years.

The virtual office application, powered by huddle247, is customized for small firms, and provides collaboration, conferencing, e-mail, contact management, scheduling and document and project management.

CPAvenue also includes a data base of free intellectual capital that Q3Avenue is making available to CPAvenue users. The data base includes new engagement ideas and templates, power point presentations and tools to help firms manage their practice and serve their clients, according to the the compnay.

The annual subscription price for the service is $139 per firm. There is also a monthly usage fee. The company is offering accountants a free one-month trial subscription at www.CPAvenue.com.

"We're most excited about our Accountants Guide to Increasing Revenue Using CPAvenue and huddle247," McCann said. Subscribers to CPAvenue are tutored on how to generate fees helping their small business clients install huddle247 as their company's virtual environment. McCann said Q3Avenue plans to continue to offer more applications through CPAvenue.
