EMind in Deal to Offer E-Learning to Insurance Firm

July 21, 2000 (SmartPros) EMind.com, a continuing professional education vendor to the accounting industry that has re-positioned itself as a business-to-business provider of what it calls e-learning services, has struck a deal to provide American International Group Inc. a customized online learning solution for AIG's employees.

EMind.com, formerly known as Yipinet, said it will deliver insurance continuing education and professional development courses plus custom course development, tracking and reporting systems to AIG under the three-year deal. The agreement calls for eMind.com to deliver accredited insurance CE courses and personal development training through an outsourced e-learning program for AIG employees.

"AIG is part of a growing number of companies that are turning to e-learning to build knowledge in this new economy," said Howard Marks, founder and chief executive. "We believe AIG's commitment to provide internet-based learning to its employees underscores the tremendous potential to tap e-learning for a competitive advantage in the future."

Emind is looking to strike similar deals with some of the Top 100 accounting firms, Marks said. The firm counts Arthur Andersen, JP Morgan, Conseco, Oppenheimer and Northern Trust Securities among its clients.
