BDO Seidman Revenue Gains 37 Percent, to $408 Million

CHICAGO, July 20, 2000 (SmartPros) Led by growth in tax and technology, BDO Seidman said revenue for the fiscal year ended June 30, jumped 37 percent, to $408 million.

Chairman Denis Field attributed the gains to "building innovative distribution channels for our technology, tax and specialized consulting services.'' He said the growth was continuing into the current fiscal year.

Under Field, the firm's tax division has been driven by aggressive development and marketing of sophisticated corporate shelters involving mergers & acquisitions, international, multi-state, compensation, and increasing or maintaining shareholder value.

In addition to top-line advances at the Business and Technology Solutions unit, the division expanded its payroll from 125 to 230. The practice was spun-off, effective July 1, as a separate entity, called WaveBend Solutions, as a fully owned subsidiary of BDO Seidman.
